Budimex is included in the WIG-ESG Index, which has been replaced by the Respect Index, in force until the end of 2019.
Budimex plants trees
“We care about the opinions of our stakeholders. While preparing our annual report, we make every effort to ensure that it is both useful and practical. This is why we value every opinion we receive and we will take them all into consideration when preparing our future reports. At the same time, we would like to make ourselves useful for the natural environment whose condition, sadly, continues to worsen”. Dariusz Blocher, the President of Budimex SA Management Board, said.
Budimex promises that, as part of the project, it will plant a number of beech trees corresponding to the number of filled-out surveys it receives.
Great beech trees are more than just potential homes for numerous urban and forest animals. They are also, if not more importantly, natural production plants generating oxygen which every inhabitant of our planet needs to survive. A large beech provides oxygen for 14 people every day. That plant type absorbs particularly great amounts of CO2. A single tree is capable of absorbing as much as 900 kg of carbon dioxide over the course of 100 years. If beech trees were to be added and grew among other trees, the overall absorption of carbon dioxide would increase by 10 per cent compared to a forest area without beeches. During its growing season, a beech tree can deliver as much as 1.1 kg of oxygen to the atmosphere.
