The Mieleszyn - Gniezno Południe section of S5 expressway is finished early

Last Thursday, 4 May 2017, an 18.3-kilometer-long section of the S5 expressway between the “Mieleszyn” and the “Gniezno Południe” junctions was opened to traffic two months early. The newly built bypass of Gniezno will allow to completely transfer the transit traffic from the town and will ultimately ensure smooth connection of the A1 Gdansk-Katowice motorway with the A2 Poznań-Warszawa motorway.
 

Under the contract, Budimex executed 3 road junctions (Mieleszyn junction, Gniezno junction, Kłecko junction), 19 engineering facilities, 2 passenger service centers, transverse and access roads with road lighting and acoustical barriers, drainage and drainage equipment. In addition, the company remodeled and removed collisions of water and sewerage equipment, melioration equipment, power equipment, telecommunication, gas and railway equipment of multiple designs (overhead contact and power lines, telecommunications, tracks and others).
 

The construction works value amounted to over PLN 500 million of which 85% was covered by the European Union subsidy.
