Technical back-up facilities for Koleje Małopolskie put into service

In January, the official opening of the Technical and Maintenance Facility was held in Kraków. It was completed by the consortium of Budimex (consortium leader) and KZN Rail within the investment called ‘Design and construction of technical facilities for the operation of the railway rolling stock at the Kraków Towarowy station’ for Koleje Małopolskie.

The basic function of the Technical and Maintenance Facility is to ensure a stopping place for the Company’s rail vehicles and their servicing and maintenance.

“The operations of this facility will make it possible to perform maintenance, servicing and inspection activities in a timely and planned manner, and to transfer the rolling stock for further use, in order to fulfil the assumed maintenance tasks for the Company’s own needs, without the necessity to drive to remote facilities. Ultimately, it will be also possible to provide services within the Service Infrastructure Facility to other railway carriers in the scope of technical service of railway vehicles and other services”, says Jakub Nagraba, Director of the General Construction Division of Budimex SA.
