S14 expressway for Konstantynów Łódzki – Łódź Lublinek ready for use
In consortium with Strabag, Budimex created a 12-kilometre section of the S14 expressway, constituting the southern section of the Łódź ring road. The investor was the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways in Łódź.
The consortium has implemented the investment under the “design and build” system. The value of implementing the whole investment together with the Teofilów road junction amounted to PLN 512 million net. The investment included 4 road junctions and 17 engineering structures. The wearing course was created using asphalt concrete technology.
“The biggest engineering challenge was the removal of collisions in the new transmission networks for the road area with the previously existing underground installations: water, energy, gas. There were as many as 200 such points,” said Cezary Łysenko – Director of Infrastructure Construction at Budimex SA.
“At key moments, as many as 220 pieces of construction equipment and nearly 500 people worked on the construction site. The construction works began in 2019. During the first 12 months of the project, the progress in the work reached 50%. A characteristic feature of the S14 is the sheer number of road junctions and engineering structures over the 12 kilometres,” added Cezary Łysenko.
In consortium with Strabag, in December 2021 Budimex put two sections of the A1 motorway into service in the Łódzkie Voivodeship: between Tuszyn and Piotrków Trybunalski, and between Radomsko and Kamieńsko.
