Expressway S61 Stawiski – Szczuczyn: traffic on new roadways, but with restrictions

From 20 July, the traffic organisation on the section of the future expressway 261 Stawiski – Szczuczyn will change. Vehicles will be diverted to the already finished roadways of the S61. The change is technical and related to the next stage of road works. There will be a 70 km/h speed limit.

Diverting traffic will allow the final works to be executed, including finishing the road fences, barriers and surfaces of byways and service roads, accessible for traffic thus far.

We ask the drivers to drive within the speed limit and exercise extra caution due to the ongoing road works and possible lane-drop bottlenecks.

The opening of the full section of the expressway and removal of the 70 km/h speed limit is planned for late July/early August, together with the opening of the adjoining section of the S61 Kolno – Stawiski. Drivers will then benefit from an almost 44-kilometre-long expressway, which begins at the Kolno junction, north of Łomża, and ends at the end of Szczuczyn’s ring road.
