Budimex to expand roads in Poznań

On 30 June 2015, Budimex signed an agreement with Poznańskie Inwestycje Miejskie Sp. z o.o. to construct and expand roads for the Mixed Municipal Waste Residues Fraction Incineration System. The net value of the contract is PLN 68.7 million net.
As part of the investment, Budimex is to expand the 1.5 km section of Gdyńska Street, from ul. Bałtycka crossing to the border of the city of Poznań. The road will comprise two roadways separated by a green area. Additionally, Chemiczna Street junction will be expanded. The scope of work will also include the construction of the pedestrian and cyclist tunnel under Zieleniec-Kiekrz Railway Line No 395 and under Gdyńska Street, as well as the construction of access and distributor roads in the node area and the 450 m section of the access road to the incineration plant.
The next investment target will be to expand the 1.4 km section of ul. Bałtycka, from Lech Bridge to Syrenia Street junction. The street is designed to consist of two roadways separated by a green area. The junctions between Gdyńska, Syrenia and Chemiczna Streets are also to be expanded.
The contractor has also been given the task of providing access roads and distributor roads, bicycle paths, pavements and bus bays, street lighting, storm water drainage system and traffic safety equipment.
The work is to be completed on 30 October 2016.
