Budimex to expand Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz
On 12 January 2023, Budimex signed a contract for the expansion of Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, involving another construction stage (“Fourth Circle”) and car park infrastructure (underground). The project will take 28 months for the Opera building and 18 months for the car park, with nearly 300 spots.
The Fourth Circle of the Opera is to have a functional and utility linkage to the main building. It will house a scene rehearsal room with a multi-functional audience section, the scene proper, an orchestra pit, a trapdoor, and more facilities, as well as a cinema room with solutions for a superior image and sound experience. The car park will include an underground level plus a square on the surface above.

The project implementation time for the general contractor is 28 months (for the Opera building) and 18 months (for the car park).
Budimex has already successfully completed many other theatre projects under the turnkey formula. The general contractor is currently tasked with the expansion of Teatr Polski in Szczecin and an upgrade to the Aleksander Węgierka Dramatic Theatre in Białystok.
Local projects in Bydgoszcz being delivered by Budimex are the construction of a National Archives building, as commissioned by the National Archives of Poland, and the University Sports Centre for the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology.
