Budimex to construct 19 km long section of S7 express road

On 9 October 2015 Budimex signed a contract for the construction of the 19.1 kilometre-long section of expressway S7 between Nowy Dwór Gdański and Kazimierzowo with Gdańsk Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways. The value of the contract is PLN 1.3 billion net.
The scope of works includes the construction of:

  • two lane expressway with a reserve for the third lane,
  • access roads, haul roads and diversions,
  • walkways, bicycle/pedestrian paths, bus stops and lay-bys,
  • two road interchanges: Żuławy Wschód and Elbląg Zachód,
  • engineering facilities along the S7 expressway (including 10 bridges and two overpasses),
  • engineering facilities along the lower-class roads (one bridge and 10 overpasses),
  • pedestrian tunnel under the expressway.

The investment also includes road surface rehabilitation along the section of the existing two-lane ring road in Nowy Dwor Gdański. The contractor’s scope of works includes re-construction of the S7 expressway to eliminate the crossroad with Żuławska street in Elbląg and to construct an overpass for the street over the S7 expressway.
Budimex will have 27 months to complete the S7 construction, starting from the contract signing date (excluding winter periods from 15 December to 15 March).
