Budimex to build a nearly 17km section of motorway in Slovakia
On 8 July 2022, Slovakia's Národná diaľničná spoločnosť, a. s. z, the national roads administrator in Slovakia, selected Budimex S.A.'s tender as the most favourable in the tender procedure for: the construction of the 16.8 km long D1 Bratislava-Triblavina motorway under the design-and-build formula.
This is the first contract won by Budimex in Slovakia since it first entered this market in 2021, and the third contract won abroad in the last year (Budimex also won two construction contracts in Germany). In addition to the Polish market, Budimex is also active in Lithuania, Germany and the Czech Republic in terms of energy, road and railway construction.
The aim of the construction project is to rebuild the motorway and other related facilities. This means the full extension of the D1 motorway, including the replacement of the road structure on the section from Vajnor to the Triblavina junction as well as the provision of a transport link between the D1 and D4 motorways. The project includes the construction of connectors between Vajnor junction and Ivanka junction, coordination with the D4 motorway, the replacement of the carriageway in the MÚK Triblavina area, as well as the completion of the IT system. Coordination with the D4 motorway includes with the already constructed sections of the Ivanka Sever D4 interchange branches, which will need to be modified for the construction of detours, and completion of the parts of the D4 motorway facilities leading under the D1, including obtaining the necessary permits.
The execution of the task in question must take place with adequate permanent traffic continuity. The project includes the construction of 19 engineering structures, of which the two longest structures are located where the junction crosses the motorway, each 138 metres long. The value of the tender is EUR 110,850,000 net. Budimex starts the design work immediately after signing the contract. Budimex also has 3 years from the conclusion of the contract to complete the works. The road will be covered by a 5-year warranty period.
