Budimex Recognised as the Construction Company of the Year

Budimex was awarded the title of the Construction Company of the Year by the jury of the Infrastructure and Construction Diamonds competition. The nominees included other general contractors: Mirbud, Unibep, PORR and Strabag.

– Thank you so much to the jury, our sub-contractors and partners, thousands of suppliers and customers. I would also like to thank our employees and our friends from Ukraine – said Artur Popko, President of the Management Board of Budimex SA, during the ceremony.

Last week Budimex declared to offer financial and organisational support to families of employees who are in Ukraine, including bringing those families to Poland. The employees from Ukraine were also offered support in accommodating their relatives in Poland. The general contractor also guaranteed jobs for the citizens of Ukraine who had to return to their homeland.

– Over 5 thousand people in our construction locations are employees who come from there.  Because of the way they have been supporting us in recent years, now we are responsible for helping them under these unusual circumstances. This award will motivate our people and me to keep working hard in these difficult times – added the President of Budimex.

In February, the company announced their results for 2021. Budimex increased its profits from 427 million zlotys in 2020 to 554 million zlotys in 2021, while improving profitability from 5.5% to 7.0%.

The award is given by the jury consisting of construction engineers and managers from organisations, including: Warsaw University of Technology, Institute of Roads and Bridges, Railway Research Institute, Polish Economic Chamber of Road Building and Maintenance and Polish Chamber of Civil Engineers.
