In April 2022, one year will have passed since the signing of the contract to build Stage II of the waterway, which will connect the Vistula Lagoon to the Gdańsk Bay. This project stage includes shoring the banks of the Elbląg river, relocation of conflicting telecom and power utilities, and construction of a district road stretch and a swing bridge over the Elbląg river.
The steel frame structure assembly for the new PepsiCo food manufacturing facility is in its final stage. Earth and foundation work has already been completed. The construction project delivered by Budimex was launched on 1 August 2021. The project value is more than PLN 350 million.
On 25 January 2022, the Border Guards handed over to the contractors the construction site for the construction of the 186-kilometre wall on the border between Poland and Belarus. The contractor of the wall in the Białowieża Forest section is Budimex. The company makes every effort to ensure that works are carried out professionally and with respect for residents and the environment. Budimex will carry out works on the 100-kilometre section, and the border zone along the Białowieża Forest accounts for less than 40% of its length.

With regard to the development strategy for the next years adopted by the Company, the planned business expansion and changes in the organisational structure, the Management Board and the Supervisory Board of Mostostal Kraków appointed three new Members of the Management Board: Kacper Jaskot, Paweł Śmigla and Tomasz Guzik. Until now, the Management Board of the Company which belongs to Budimex Group was represented by the President of the Management Board – Jacek Lech (CEO) and a member of the Management Board – Jakub Tomaszewski (CFO). This change came into force on 20 January 2022.
The building shell of the House of the Heart 2 in Brusy is completed. Interior designs will be ready in a few weeks. Budimex is building a turnkey house for a family of 8 from Brusy in Pomeranian Voivodeship. This will be the second house to be built for a large family living in difficult economic conditions which is funded by the construction industry.
As of Monday, 10 January, Budimelex returns to the Warszawa Zachodnia station, providing transport for passengers between the bus terminus on Tunelowa Street/platforms of the Warszawa Zachodnia station and platform 9 (platform of the district line).
On 4 January 2022, after negotiations with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration and the Border Guard, we signed a contract for the construction of a part of the barrier on the border between the European Union and Belarus. We will execute the project on market terms, being one of several companies on the Polish market that have adequate resources and experience to professionally execute this order on time.
On 3 January 2022, Budimex, together with the investor, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and the Ministry of Infrastructure, officially opened the S61 Wysokie-Raczki section. The 20-kilometre section of the new expressway is the first completed section of the Via Baltica route in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.
Today the Provincial Roads Authority in Łódź concluded a contract with a contractor for the construction of provincial road No. 714, along the existing district road No. 1164E. This is the section linking the Łódź Górna junction on the A1 motorway and the third stage of Trasa Górna, planned to be implemented by the City of Łódź.

On 19 December Budimex commissioned the first parts of the new Warsaw West (Warszawa Zachodnia) station: a 200m long footbridge for passengers over pre-existing platforms and the new platforms #6 and #9. Following several months of work, passengers have gained access to the station via a new footbridge from Jerozolimskie Avenue towards Wola.
The jury of the Budimex Startup Challenge competition has selected the winners of the rivalry between young companies operating in the energy, IT and environmental protection sectors, which commenced in November. The Budimex Startup Challenge was won by Surveily, a company that provides a video surveillance system for OHS supplemented with artificial intelligence (AI).
Budimex and contractors working on the neighbouring sections of the S19 road commissioned an over 30-kilometre long section of the S19 expressway in Podkarpackie province. The section constructed by Budimex is 10.3 km long. The contract was signed on 9 August 2018 and its value was PLN 335,932,922.85. The design stage lasted 10 months and ended on 10 June 2019. The construction stage took 20 months.
The 38th Parent Zone was opened in the Children’s Ward of the Regional Specialist Hospital. In this edition of the project, we transformed two rooms on two different floors of the ward. The renovated areas are now educational rooms, in which teachers from the Health Resort School Complex in Ciechocinek will conduct classes for children.
Two months before the contractual time limit and after obtaining the use permit, the gas pipeline between Strachocina and the Polish border was commissioned. It means that the construction of this section of the pipeline has been finished and that GAZ-SYSTEM SA, its operator, can start preparing it for exploitation.

The largest Polish general contractor is in the top of companies which made it into the ranking, such as: Orlen, PGE, PGNIG, KGHM Polska Miedź, Grupa Lotos and Grupa Azoty.
On 23 November 2021, Budimex signed a contract to construct a bridge for pedestrians and cyclists over the Vistula with the build delivery method. The bridge will connect the centre of Warsaw with Praga Północ. The bridge will be 452 metres long, which means that it will be the longest crossing for pedestrians and cyclists in Poland and one of the largest projects of this type in Europe. Thanks to the construction of the new bridge, Praga will become a kind of extension of Śródmieście. The investor is the Municipal Road Administration in Warsaw (ZDM).
It has been less than 12 months since Budimex started to perform the contract for PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe and 30% of the work is already completed. We are erecting new construction elements on floor -2 of the new underground train station, which will be located under Warszawa Zachodnia, and we are building platforms 6, 7 and 8. Budimex has already developed almost 30 railroad turnouts.
Since 2020, Budimex has been implementing the ESG strategy: E – Environmental, S – Social responsibility, G – Corporate governance. While implementing its investments, it fights every day to reduce its negative impact on the environment and climate. Budimex employees have already generated 200 ideas on how to modernise the construction industry in Poland.
