We will build the Tuszyn - Piotrków Trybunalski - Bełchatów section of the A1 motorway

The consortium of Budimex and Strabag has signed a contract with the General Director for National Roads and Motorways, with the participation of the Minister of Infrastructure, Andrzej Adamczyk, for building an important section of the A1 motorway. The project aims at building a road connecting the Gdańsk-Sopot-Gdynia Tricity with the Czech Republic. The new section of the A1 motorway will also provide drivers with new exits, for example, to Warsaw from the route to Łódź. The value of the project is PLN 389 million net. The President of the Board at Budimex, Dariusz Blocher, says that “we want to submit a construction design in two weeks.”

The Tuszyn-Piotrków Trybunalski section is the first out of four that are to be built in the Łódź voivodeship. Its length is approx. 16 km. The project must be finished within 32 months and it will follow an already existing road. The concrete surface will be a novelty. Once the works have been finished, drivers will have two lanes in each direction of the road and a hard shoulder. In addition, the “Piotrków Trybunalski Zachód” interchange will offer a new exit to Warsaw from the road to Łódź and vice versa. The contract amounts to almost PLN 389 million, and the warranty period is from 5 to 10 years.

”We did not waste the time necessary to get ready for signing the contract. Quite the opposite. We used it wisely. In about two weeks, we are planning to submit a construction design and we count on its prompt approval.” - Dariusz Blocher, President of the Board of Budimex S.A.

The motorway is also part of the Trans-European Transport Networks (TEN-T) and the project called “Gdańsk - Brno / Bratislava - Vienna Motorway”.
