Budimex signed a contract for the next section of the S3 road

On 5 February 2016 Budimex and the Zielona Góra Division of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways concluded a contract for the construction of the second carriageway of the S3 express road from Sulechów to Nowa Sól (section III). The net value of the contract amounts to PLN 153.2 million.
As part of the investment, the consortium of Budimex (Consortium leader with 95%) and Ferrovial Agroman will construct the second carriageway along a 17.3 kilometre-long section of the road. The road is located in Lubuskie Province, in Nowa Sól District.
The scope of works includes:

  • construction of the eastern carriageway of the S3 road (two lanes);
  • construction of collector and service roads, reconstruction of cross roads;
  • reconstruction and expansion of Niedoradz (partially) and Nowa Sól junctions;
  • construction and reconstruction of road drainage system, including the existing carriageway of the S3 road;
  • construction of engineering facilities, traffic safety and environmental protection infrastructure;
  • reconstruction of the colliding infrastructure;
  • construction of a road maintenance station;

Budimex will have 22 months to complete the project; however, winter periods from 15 December to 15 March will be excluded from the project completion time.
It is yet another contract of Budimex for the construction of the S3 road. In October 2015, Budimex signed the contract with the net value of PLN 158 million for construction of a 13.3 kilometre-long section of the second carriageway of the S3 road between the junctions of Zielona Góra Północ and Niedoradz.
The constructed S3 express road forms part of the international E65 route along the Trans-European Transport Corridor. S3 runs longitudinally from the Świnoujście-Szczecin sea ports in the north, along the western border of Poland, to the border with the Czech Republic.
