The expansion of the ‘Żelazny Most’ Tailings Storage Facility for KGHM Polska Miedź, carried out by Budimex SA since 2018, has come to an end – 7 months before the deadline. ‘Żelazny Most’ is the largest facility of its kind in Europe. It can even be seen from space. Thirty Kazimierz Górski National Stadiums would fit on its surface.
The progress of work on the S5 Nowe Marzy - Dworzysko section implemented by Budimex has already exceeded 50%. Construction work concentrates on the main road in order to ensure maximum capacity of the new route as soon as possible. We plan to complete the work on the main road by the summer of 2022. The entire project will be completed by the end of 2022 - according to the contractual deadline.
We are satisfied with the results achieved after three quarters. Despite difficult market conditions, we recorded an increase in the Group's gross profit as part of continuing operations (i.e. construction and services) from PLN 230 million for three quarters of 2020 to PLN 389 million in three quarters of 2021, with a simultaneous improvement in profitability from 4.1% to 7.0%. Such a good result is the effect of the improvements of the results of the construction segment, the services segment, as well as the settlement of the result on transactions between the construction and development segments to the amount of PLN 68 million in connection with the sale of Budimex Nieruchomości.
Budimex will once again join forces with other construction companies for a good cause. As part of the House of the Heart 2 campaign, it will build a turnkey house for a family of 8 from the town of Brusy in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. This will be the second house to be built for a large family living in difficult economic conditions financed by Budimex and its partners.

On 13 September 2021, a contract was concluded between Budimex SA and the State Water Holding Polish Waters Regional Water Management Board in Szczecin for the reconstruction of a railway bridge over the Regalica River in Szczecin. The new bridge will provide greater freedom for inland navigation. It will also increase the capacity of railway line No. 273. The net value of the works is PLN 282 million. Budimex has 25 months to complete the works. The investment is being carried out in the “build” formula. It is financed by the World Bank, the European Union and the national budget.

On 6 September 2021, a contract signing ceremony was held in Bielsk Podlaski for the construction of the S19 Haćki – Bielsk Podlaski expressway, which is a part of the Via Carpatia international route. The contract investor is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA).
On Thursday 26 August 2021 in Środa Śląska, the official opening of the construction of the PepsiCo plant took place with the laying of the cornerstone. On 26 August 2021, Budimex S.A. signed a contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. for nearly PLN 587 million net for the modernisation of Ełk Railway Station. Investments in Ełk are the first stage of works on the section Białystok – Ełk within the framework of the project “Works on E 75 line on the section Białystok – Suwałki – Trakiszki (state border), stage I section Białystok – Ełk.” The project for nearly PLN 587 million net is co-financed from the EU funds of the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) instrument.
