Budimex completes the alteration of the key stage of the IHE building at the Warsaw University of Technology

The largest Polish general contractor has completed a key stage in the alteration and expansion of the Institute of Heat Engineering at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. The renovation involved in the project covered three building wings: B, C, and D, with the courtyard and a fire access road. Budimex submitted the project to the Budowa Roku 2022 awards (Construction Project of the Year). The awards are held each year by PZITB (Polish Society of Construction Designers and Engineers), joined by the Polish Ministry of Construction and the Chief Office of Construction Supervision.

Tram to Wilanów – Budimex has completed the first part of compensation planting

Compensatory plantings of new trees have been completed during the construction of the tramway to Wilanów – Budimex has planted a total of 130 trees in Mokotów and Wilanów since the beginning of November. A total of 1,000 trees will be planted as part of this investment. All others will be completed by the project’s completion date, i.e. by 2024.

Twenty-four kilometres of the new S61 Suwałki – Budzisko route

Budimex has completed the construction and commissioned a 24-kilometre section of the S61 express route from Suwałki to the state border with Lithuania – the Via Baltica. In recent years, the Polish general contractor has completed a total of 94 kilometres of this route out of the 130 kilometres in operation.

The S5 expressway Ornowo – Wirwajdy near Ostróda opened for use 5 months ahead of schedule

Budimex has completed the construction of another section of the S5 expressway for the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways Division in Olsztyn.

Budimex will work closely with the National Tax Administration (KAS)

Budimex has completed another 10 km of the S6 expressway

A part of the S6 expressway that connects Słupsk and Gdańsk consists of three implementation sections with a total length of almost 41 km: Boże Pole – Luzino, Luzino – Szemud and Szemud – Gdynia Wielki Kack. As part of the project, Budimex built the middle section, including, among other things, a dual carriageway of more than 10 km. Additionally, 10 km of access roads, local streets and exits to area service adjacent to Trasa Kaszubska (Kashubian Route) were built. Access to the S6 is provided by the Szemud junction built at the intersection with the provincial road No. 224.

A single-span viaduct with two tracks and a turnout – the first of its kind in Poland.

As part of the contract for the reconstruction of the Warsaw West station, Budimex completed a railway viaduct located at 4+787 km on railway line No. 1. The single-span structure – 118.5 m long and 16.5 m high – weighs 1,700 tonnes and was built as a single element using incremental launching technology. The viaduct is a unique construction on a national scale; it was built as a single superstructure for two railway tracks, including a turnout. This solution had never been used before in this type of contract. The manufacturer of the construction is Mostostal Kraków.

Extending the composition of Budimex S.A Management

On 14 December the Supervisory Board of Budimex appointed three new Board members, extending the current four-member board. As of 1 January 2023, the following people were appointed to perform the new functions: Anna Karyś-Sosińska, Maciej Olek and Cezary Łysenko.

Budimex starts construction of a bridge in the German town of Liepe

Budimex has started construction work on a bridge structure in Germany near the Polish border. The tender for the demolition and construction of a new bridge in Liepe, Brandenburg, worth €5.1 million gross, was won by Poland's largest general contractor in late 2021.

Progress of the construction on the Warszawa Zachodnia train station

Construction of the new Warszawa Zachodnia Station is over 55 per cent finished. More than 500 people and 200 machines are working on the site.

Supports for the new bridge in Warsaw will be ready by the end of 2022.

The progress of construction of the structure supporting the new bridge over the Vistula has exceeded 52 per cent. Concreting of the support structure on the river is currently underway. The supports of the new bridge in Warsaw will be ready by the end of 2022.

Budimex employees at Ełk station helped a local charity organisation

Budimex employees executing a railway contract in Ełk helped the local community and renovated the roof of the building of a charity organisation – the Occupational Therapy Workshop at the Catholic Association of the Disabled of the Ełk Diocese. As further support, the contract will also organise a Christmas Fair at Budimex’s office.

Budimex signs a contract for the construction of the S17 Piaski - Hrebenne expressway

Budimex signed a contract with the Lublin branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the design and construction of the S17 Tomaszów Lubelski - Hrebenne section.

Budimex starts work on the construction of the D1/D4 motorway junction in Slovakia

On Monday 28 November 2022, Slovak road authority ‘Národná diaľničná spoločnost' (NDS) and Budimex SA signed a contract for the construction of the 3.6 km long D1 Bratislava-Triblavina motorway. Preparatory work for the construction begins on 1 December 2022. This is Budimex's first investment contract in Slovakia and the fourth one in foreign markets (the other three take place in Germany).

Budimex starts work on the construction of a new terminal for Baltic Hub

On 28 November 2022, Baltic Hub (formerly DCT Gdańsk), the operator of the largest container terminal on the Baltic Sea, officially launched the construction of a third deep-water T3 terminal. After being completed in the second quarter of 2025, the new terminal will have a quay wall with the length of 717 metres and depth of 17.5 metres.

Laying the cornerstone for the construction of a sports and entertainment hall in Ziębice

On Thursday, 24 November, there was a celebration of laying the cornerstone for the construction of a sports and entertainment hall in Ziębice. The investment is to enable sports competitions in such disciplines as volleyball, basketball and handball. In addition, the hall will be used for training purposes, and for organising concerts and other artistic events.

Parent Zone in the Voivodeship Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz is open!

As part of the ‘Parent Zone. Budimex for Kids’ (pl. Strefa Rodzica, Budimex Dzieciom) programme, another space for the youngest patients has been created. A playground was renovated at the Józef Brudziński Voivodeship Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz, which will make recovery time more pleasant for the small patients and will speed up the recovery process.

Budimex commences construction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Area Ring Road

On 24 November, the opening of the construction of the Tri-City Metropolitan Area Ring Road took place. Budimex commences earthworks on the main line of the new route. Earlier, the company performed felling, archaeological, geodetic and preparatory work. The contract, worth over PLN 581 million net, will be completed by the general contractor within 38 months of signing the contract, excluding winter periods, i.e. by March 2025.

Budimex Group advanced in Top Brand 2022 ranking.

Once again, Budimex has acquired the title of the strongest brand in the category of construction companies in the Top Brand 2022 ranking. At the same time, it took 66th place in the classification of 500 brands, being ahead of, among others, Nike, T-Mobile and Volvo. Compared to the previous year, Budimex moved up two positions in the list.
